The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has announced its intention to introduce legislation to continue recognition of the CE marking on lifts and components until 31st December 2024.
This commitment by the government will reduce the burden on companies like Concept Elevators and is intended to provide more flexibility and reduce regulatory headaches for businesses.
The extension to December 2024 will allow businesses to reduce labelling costs by affixing the UKCA marking and to include information for product from the European Union. It will also reduce retesting costs for UKCA certification by allowing conformity assessment activities for CE marking undertaken by December 2024 to be used by manufacturers as the basis for UKCA marking.
Concept Elevators technical committee sits every three months, and this area of legislation is always on the agenda. Important updates will be published via our website. If any of our customers have any queries, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
